SEAIR: THE SHOT STARTS BEFORE TAKEOFF.

Seair’s floatplanes connect Vancouver’s harbour with the mountains and coast beyond it. We captured that world from both sides of the window: air-to-air footage of the Beaver and Caravan, paired with cockpit and passenger perspectives from onboard.

The production called for more than finding a beautiful background. It meant bringing the aircraft, pilots, camera team and harbour operation into a plan that could adapt safely as the evening unfolded.

THREE AIRCRAFT. ONE WORKING HARBOUR.

Before the shoot, we coordinated with Vancouver Harbour Tower and NAV CANADA around a Seneca camera ship, Seair’s Beaver and a Caravan joining later in the evening. We shared proposed timing, orbit areas and altitude blocks, while making clear that the plan could change around the harbour’s traffic.

Each request still had to fit the operation on the night. Pilot briefings, local flying-condition checks and the flexibility to wait outside the zone kept safety at the centre of the production.

OUTSIDE THE AIRCRAFT. INSIDE THE EXPERIENCE.

The aerials establish the scale: mountains, coastline and Vancouver in evening light. The onboard footage brings the story back to the people flying through it, with cockpit detail, passenger perspectives and views across the wing.

Together, the footage and photography give Seair a visual library that connects the aircraft with the experience of being aboard.
